[Review] Annie's Way Calendula Softening Jelly Mask

Good evening everyone! It's been a while since my last blogpost. I guess I did neglect my blog a little too much. Therefore, one of my goal this year is to write more posts and reviews here for you^^ (Procrastination go away)

I recently made a trip to Hong Kong and China with my family for my cousin's wedding! It was a fun, but tiring trip due to lack of sleep. I did not feel well during the flight and had a fever right after I came back from the vacation. What's more was that for two consecutive days, I fell asleep in my car after work before driving home (located ~10 minutes away). Anyways, I am soooo glad to be home to Darrin and Miku!! 2 weeks away from them is wayyyyy to long for me.

Enough about my random talk. Today, I finally opened one of the items I've purchased in Hong Kong and tried it out. It's the Annie's Way Calendula Softening Jelly Mask.

"Calendula essence can effectively moisture, soften, and reduce skin discomfort. Suitable for sensitive and dry skin".

Genki Sushi in Shibuya: Fun, Fresh, Affordable Sushi

Sushi was one of my top cravings when it comes to food in Japan! After shopping and exploring Shibuya, we got hungry and randomly wondered around areas near the mall. To our surprise, we spotted Genki Sushi right after we walked into a small street. (If pictures are not too clear, it's because some were snapshots from my video)

The restaurant was a packed, but luckily wait was not long... about 10 min. This sushi place is pretty unique compared to the ones I have been to before. It's not your usual sushi boat style. Genki sushi have individual seats and a touchscreen menu for customers to order their food!! The amount of items in the menu amazed me. So many selections from appetizer, to special rolls, and to desserts!! It's sooooo cool!! Hey... it's because I never seen it before okay?

So many selections!

You can order max 3 items at a time

Water and tea will be within reach^^

Wasabi and ginger too

[Dine With Me] Espetus Churrascaria Brazillian Steak House

Darrin and I have been wanting to try out Espetus for quite a while. We finally tried it for the first time yesterday!! Birthday dinner for my Mr. ^^ We decided to go to the one in San Mateo because parking was much easier than San Francisco.

We went on a Sunday, the day after Darrin's birthday because the restaurant was fully booked on his birthday (a day after Valentines).

Interior was spacious

Customer service in the restaurant was efficient and energetic. Within a few moments, we were taken to our table. The place was already very packed by 6:40pm (we arrived early). Ordered a nice drink after we sat down and enjoyed our dinner.

Red and white Sangria (very strong) ><

The appettizer

Green = "Stuff Me Up"

Red = "Taking a Break" / "I'm Full"

Happy Birthday to u ^^

If you are not aware, Espetus Churrascaria was actually an "all you can eat meat" and salad bar. The price for dinner was $54.95 and the price includes all food that comes around and the salad bar, except for drinks. Lunch happens to be around $28 on weekdays and $36 on weekends.

First plate of food from salad bar

I love the chicken hearts!!! Ate 9 of them... soooo good!!!

d(=^^=)bd(=^^=)b

This was the first time we tried a Brazilian Steakhouse and we loved it. There's so much to eat and you are in control of what you want, how much you want. I highly recommend Espetus for couples, families, friends, or basically anyone who likes meat. It was a very fun experience. Glad Darrin liked it too.

Valentine's Day + Darrin's Birthday

Halloooo!! Happy Valentines Day (although it's a bit late)^^
Darrin gave me a surprise at work on Valentines Day! He ordered flowers and have them delivered to me (Darrin had work too)...in front of my colleagues and more than 100 people....d(>~<)b Pretty embarrassing because most people was looking and after work, I carried the big bouquet to take the shuttle to the parking lot!! Since flowers are very expensive during Valentines, I told him I don't want them this years and rather get something else. He still got me flowers... Darrin said he doesn't want me to see other people with flowers and I don't have any! Well, I'm happy either way as long as I'm being loved and spoiled by him.

Pretty pink roses

Total 11 roses^^

My favorite color is pink so he's been getting me pink roses. My bf could be pretty sweet sometimes. Other times a bit silly... In case you are wonder why the 11 roses and not a dozen? 11 roses means "to be together and forever" in our culture.

Darrin's birthday was on 2/15, a day after Valentines. Every year, I would get a cake and celebrate with him on the night of V Day, close to midnight^^ We actually agreed that he would take me out to pick out my v day present and have dinner when he gets off work at 7pm, but since he surprised me with flowers, I decided I should throw him a surprise too! In addition to a cake, I brought room decorations and balloons!!

Picked them up from Party City

The back seat of my car...

1 big balloon and 12 small hearts

Oh my... I got all the stuff including the cake after work so I didn't have enough time to completely set everything up... Darrin also got off work early! Luckily, he didn't come up to the room or else he'll see everything!! We went out to Downtown for shopping and had dinner. Came home around 10 and he guessed that I got a cake for him. I'm surprised he didn't find me suspicious because I told him to wait in the living room while I clean the room. Actually, I was rushing to finish the set up^^

He's surprised alright! HAHAHA

Rushed it but it's not bad^^

Decorated with love

Happy birthday to my bb

Mixed fruit cake

Heart shaped balloons

More wall decorations

Happy birthday to the bf ^^ Glad he liked it too!! Alrighty, ending the post here!!

Picture could not tell it's justice... Trust me!! It's very flavorful!! That week, I went to this place 3 times. Roka Akor San Francisco

Chow time to celebrate Vivian's birthday! Time flew by so quickly! I could still remember her birthday parties from the last 2 years. Anyways, the restaurant for the occasion was Roka Akor which was located in the Financial District of San Francisco (address: 801 Montgomery Street)!!! The restaurant was rated the "Top 10 sushi spot in the US" by Bon Appetit and is one of the newly opened restaurant in San Francisco. (Some pictures were taken from my friends' camera^^)

First 3 to arrive^^

The ambiance of the restaurant was sophisticated... More suited for business meeting or small get together. Roka Akor is located in the Financial District so I'm assuming it's target is mainly business people. We had a party of 10, but I find this place and portion of food very suitable for groups of 2-4. Food from the restaurant was a mixture of Japanese and steakhouse style. Roka Akor have a open sushi bar on the main floor and a lounge downstairs. Take a look at some of our food:

Butterfish tataki with white asparagus n yuzu

Whole crab!

Sushi rolls^^

Spot prawn with uni and caviar

Beef O.O (forgot which one it was)

Lamb chop with Korean spices

A group pic (missing Wendy n Jig tho)

Already 5 years friendship!

Birthday girl and her dessert

Since everyone is so busy with work and school, we rarely see each other. Definitely nice to get together and catch up. In my opinion, the food in the restaurant was not worth it's price... Portion is not big enough to accommodate the price, as well as how the meats were prepared. Both the lamb chop and beef were too dry for me (requested for medium rare). Taste-wise and service does not amaze me, so I probably won't be coming back for another try.
